Phyllis' New Piglets

Our sow Phyllis, who joined the Rose Hill family in January of 2016, delivered her second litter of piglets Wednesday evening! Phyllis’ first litter yielded nine tiny piggies seven months ago in early February, five of whom are still grazing the green pastures of Rose Hill Farm. The five live beyond our cherry orchard under a canopy of old apple trees, vines, and undergrowth where they are helping us rehabilitate the land for some new tree plantings.

Phyllis and her beaux Boris—who joined us in the spring of 2016—reside in a pasture of old apple trees where they receive shade from the summer heat and endless fresh apples. As the season turns slightly cooler and apples make their debut here at Rose Hill, we are excited to welcome their nine new piglets to the farm!  Stop by to visit them!
