Mark your calendars! Join us for a Star Party here at the farm on Sunday, November 8, supported by astronomers
from the Mid-Hudson Astronomical Association! November 8 will be the night of the new moon, the darkest evening of the month. The darker the skies, the brighter the stars!

From 6 to 9 pm, astronomers from MHAA will invite you to enjoy the heavens through their telescopes. Some of the most exciting deep sky objects of the year will be visible including the Great Andromeda Galaxy (M31); the beautiful double cluster in Perseus (C14); the mysterious Veil Nebula (NGC 6960), a supernova remnant; and the stunning ringed-planet, Saturn. Near the taproom, astronomers will set up both advanced real-time imaging telescopes—which display incredible detail on a video screen—and large telescopes where you can view the heavens directly through an eyepiece. The astronomers will happily answer your questions.

Note: On a clear evening in mid-fall, temperatures will fall quickly. Dress warmly with a hat and consider carrying an extra layer just in case.

In case of clouds, this event will be rescheduled for Sunday, November 15.
