Picnic Guide

PICNIC AREAS & FAQS

You are welcome to bring your own picnic or takeout and enjoy it in the following areas:

  • Picnic tables under the shade trees, adjacent to the Farmstand.

  • Picnic tables behind the Farmstand, overlooking the pond.

  • Bring a blanket and sit at the open field at the top of the hill (sorry not in the orchard itself) and enjoy the Catskill view!

The picnic tables outside the Winery Taproom (and the tables inside the Taproom) are intended for guests of the Taproom and food popups. Please support our hardworking pop-ups!

Our Winery license does not permit BYO alcoholic beverages at the Winery or anywhere on the farm.

Takeout Options

If a picnic sounds like too much work, see our suggestions for convenient takeout options below!

If you were thinking pizza, nearby Salvatore's delivers to Rose Hill Farm. Our favorite is the "Grandma's-style special display case veggie pizza", different than the veggie pizza on their menu. If you’re passing through Red Hook, it’s a treat to stop at Lucoli and pick-up their old-world style wood-fired pizzas (and in fall, be sure to try their lentil soup!).

Golden Russet Cafe - If you're coming from the south on the TSP, stop by this charming cafe and grocery, owned and operated by our friends Jenny and Craig (he and co-author Dan Pucci wrote a book, American Cider, available at the cafe and our Tap Room). We're partial to the fried chicken sandwich and their famous griddled banana bread!

Taste Budd's Cafe - Conveniently located in the Village of Red Hook, they offer efficient online ordering and pick-up. Our kiddos love their egg + cheese croissant sandwiches and you can't go wrong with their rotating daily special breakfast burrito or panini. Save room for a range of baked goods and chocolates.

Bubby's Take Away Kitchen - Also conveniently located in the Village of Red Hook, Bubby's has amazing tacos, burritos (available in GF bowls too) and quesadillas. Be sure to try their house-made salsas!

Coming from the north? Stop in Hudson on the way as there are a range of awesome pizza options such as Oak Pizza Napoletana, Baba Louie's, and Half Moon. Or stop by Otto's Market in Germantown for killer sandwiches and a range of treats and provisions.
